Pierre Tremblay

President

Pierre Tremblay is President of Hyvetown Music Publishing and has over 30 years of wide-reaching experience in the music industry. In 2012, he co-founded Hyvetown Music Publishing with Janice Staub with the goal of creating a writer-friendly boutique publishing house. Since then, Pierre has travelled extensively with a strong focus on global markets to pursue new opportunities for Hyvetown’s growing roster of writers. Recently, he has made a mission of exporting the talents Hyvetown writers to Asian markets where he has found success in the K-Pop, J-Pop and C-Pop worlds. A bilingual native to Montréal, Pierre began his career in the music industry while attending Queens University, becoming Director of campus entertainment bookings. From 1991 to 1995, Pierre was a talent booker for MCA concerts in Montreal and Toronto when he was promoted as Director of West Coast Operations in Vancouver. From this position, Pierre oversaw Western Canadian arena and theatre tours for the likes of Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Jovi, Barenaked Ladies, and Sarah McLachlan. In 1997, Pierre joined Nettwerk Music Group as Senior Vice President of Management. During his 12 years at Nettwerk, Pierre was the lead manager for many top acts including Barenaked Ladies, Billy Talent, Moist, and Shawn Hook. In 2009, Pierre left Nettwerk to launch Hive Management, a global artist management company which he still runs today. Pierre served as a CARAS board member from 2002 - 2008, and was appointed co-chair of the Juno TV and Talent Committee during his tenure. He has worked with various global relief efforts during the entirety of his career, including Oxfam’s initiatives in Africa.

Janice Staub

CEO

Janice has an extensive background in the music and entertainment industries having worked in the early part of her career in Los Angeles for a major record company, moving eventually to a film and TV production company, and later to a cartoon production company. She eventually moved to Canada and shifted her focus to financial planning and money management with a goal of helping entertainers grow and retain their wealth.
Through this early involvement, she saw a need to develop a comprehensive business management company that was able to not only help artists manage their money and businesses effectively, but to also help guide them through their careers. Yaletown Financial Management was born. Today she heads up a team of experienced professionals who assist clients in all aspects of business management, money management, tax planning and financial planning. To be of further assistance to artists and their careers, in 2008 Janice co-founded a boutique style artist friendly publishing company, Hyvetown Music, along with music industry veteran Pierre Tremblay with the focus being on helping artists retain control over their catalog, capitalize on their songwriting talents, and to make sure they receive the income they are entitled to. Janice has a passion for life and for helping others. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and boating with her husband and daughter, friends and family, and when possible loves bringing along the beloved family pets for all the fun!

Shannon Malcolm

Royalty Manager

Shannon is a Legal Administrative Assistant, graduating from the program with Distinction.  Shannon joined Hyvetown Music in the fall of 2014. She has experience in all aspects of royalties from registrations, collections, to resolving any issues in a timely manner to ensure our clients receive all their royalties due to them. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and travelling.
